Another method to increase the inventory level is to add days to the order point for all products in a store or all products at a location. This method is useful if you are undergoing a truck routing change that will cause some stores to transmit one or more days later than normal. Adding days to the order point is a ‘self-scaling’ method, meaning products will get an increase in their order point based upon how much they sell a month: Top selling products will get an increase in their order point, whereas slow selling products will not have any changes to their order point. This is a great feature to use around the holidays when you need an increase in inventory on your Top selling products. 1) Start at the main menu and choose option 6. Special programs and press ENTER. 2) Choose option 8. Automated add days and press ENTER. 3) You will now be on the K3S_3470 screen as pictured below. Press F6=Add.
4) A window will pop up, like the one pictured below, with 5 choices of how to apply the automated add days.
Currently, only 2 of the five choices (L1 and S1) are relevant to the K3S-Replenish® Store Level environment. See definitions below:
L1 Location – all products Choosing L1 will add days to all products in all stores at a specified location. P1 Product – all locations Currently this choice does not apply to the K3S-Replenish® Store Level environment. P2 Product – this location Currently this choice does not apply to the K3S-Replenish® Store Level environment. S1 Supplier – all locations Choosing S1 will add days to all products within a specific store. S2 Supplier – this location Currently this choice does not apply to the K3S-Replenish® Store Level environment. 5) Make a selection from the window using 1=Select and press ENTER. Example: We will choose type S1 Supplier – all locations.
6) After making your selection from the window, you will be directed to the K3S_3470 screen, as shown below.
7) Fill out the required fields as needed. Below is a description of each field: Begin/End Date - the dates you want the add days to run through Enter dates in the format MMDDYY Example: March 15, 2007 would be entered as 031507 Add days – enter the number of days worth of inventory to add to the order point Period type – keep the default of ‘W’ (W = weeks) for K3S-Replenish® Store Level Number of periods to generate – keep the default of ‘1’ for K3S-Replenish® Store Level Reason - the reason you are adding days 8) Our example below shows that we are adding days for store 001222 for 05/20/2009 through 05/31/2009. We are adding 7 days worth of inventory due to ‘memorial day’ holiday.
9) Once you have filled out the appropriate fields, press ENTER to process the Add days. The changes to a product’s order point will take affect immediately if the Add days are to start today. However, the changes to the product order points will not show up in the system until you do an F21=Recalculate on the K3S_1020 screen or, you wait until the following business day so that a night job has been able to process the Add days. |
