K3S_STRS

This screen is showing you the On hand counts submitted by the store for a particular product. This screen will tell you whether a zero quantity for the On hand count was because the store manager did not scan the product or the manager entered a zero quantity into the transmission unit.

How do you get to the K3S_STRS screen?

1) Take option 4. Suggested orders from the main menu.

2) Use option 1=Select to select a store from K3S_1010.

3) Press F2=All or select a category from the totem pole on K3S_1020.

4) Use option 1=Select or option F21= Start on K3S_1030.

5) Press F7=POs from K3S_1040.

Carton Quantity On hand shows you the quantity a store manager entered into the scanning unit for a particular product.  This quantity should be the number of cartons the store manager had on hand at the time the inventory was counted.

Suggested Cartons to Ship is the quantity of cartons that will be shipped to the store on their next delivery.  This quantity is calculated by K3S-Replenish® Store Level and is dependent upon the Carton Quantity On Hand transmitted through the scanning unit.

Order up to balance is also known as the Order Point or Build to value.  This is the quantity of cartons that a store is trying to build up to.

How does K3S-Replenish® Store Level calculate the Suggested Cartons to Ship?

Order up to balance   -   Carton Quantity On Hand   =   Suggested Cartons to Ship

Example: Look at the screen below. For the order on 07/13/2006, there were 6 cartons on hand for a product with an order point of 38 cartons.  38 cartons minus 6 cartons equals 32 suggested cartons to ship. ( 38 - 6 = 32 )

Note:  If the Carton Quantity On hand value is greater than the Order up to balance, then the Carton Quantity On hand value will display as the new Order up to balance.

Example: Look at the screen pictured below. For the order on 08/31/2006, the store reported 9 cartons on hand.  This value is higher than the order point of 7 cartons (which is shown in the previous week’s order), thus the order up to balance is shown as 9 cartons

The K3S_STRS screen gives important information when a product has an On hand quantity of zero. It is important to know whether the zero is appearing because the store manager entered a zero quantity or the store manager did not scan the product.  Thus, there are two different kinds of zeros that you will see on the K3S_STRS screen:

A normal zero ( 0 ) tells us that the store manager counted 0 cartons of inventory for the product.

Example: A normal zero appears for the inventory on 09/14/2006.

A red zero ( 0 ) tells us that the store manager neglected to do an On hand count for the product.

Example: A red zero appears for the inventory on 08/03/2006.

(***Note that in some computer terminals red zeros might also display as blinking red zeros**)

There are special rules that the K3S-Replenish® Store Level system will follow to replenish a product’s inventory when the On hand quantity is zero.  These rules are dependent upon the type of zero and the product’s Store Rank

This screen also contains an Available Column where your company is able to define what information you would like to appear for each inventory.  Examples include service level or force out quantity.

Special Rules when ‘On hand’ = Zero

Top 20 Products:

A. If a zero inventory is sent from store (Normal Zero)

Maximum order is sent, plus bump by 10%

B. If a zero inventory is NOT sent from store        (Red Zero)

Maximum order is sent, plus bump by 10%

Non Top 20 Products

C. If a zero inventory is sent from store (Normal Zero)

Maximum order is sent

       D. If a zero inventory is sent two weeks in a row (Normal Zero)

Maximum order is sent, plus bump by 10%

      E. If a zero inventory is NOT sent from store     (Red Zero)

No inventory is sent!!!

Normal Zeros

When a zero On hand count is sent in for a product, K3S-Replenish® Store Level will show a normal zero ( 0 ) in K3S_STRS.

Example: The manager transmitted a zero quantity for the order on 08/10/2006.

Red Zeros

When an On hand count is NOT sent in for product, K3S-Replenish® Store Level will show a red zero ( 0 ) in K3S_STRS.  For some users, the red zero will also appear as a blinking red zero.

Example: The manager did not transmit an on hand quantity for this product in the order on 07/13/2006.

Exclude buying until Rule

If you are on the K3S_STRS screen for a Non Top 20 product and you see a red zero, then the Exclude buying until Rule will be in effect. See below that there is a red zero for today's order, which is the bottom order in the list (09/28/2006).

Below is a picture of the K3S_1040 screen and you will see the message Exclude buying until on the very bottom.  This is an example of a Non Top product where a store manager did not transmit an inventory count.  Notice that the Store rank is 27.

This means that the product will be ‘excluded’ from buying until the following day.  The system will not ship any cartons for this product because it was not inventoried and is not a Top product.
