Description: These instructions will show you how to set notes and/or reminders in the F9=Note pad system of K3S. There are three different ‘kinds’ of notes and reminders you can enter into the system: Supplier notes and reminders, Product notes and reminders, and User notes and reminders. 1. Start at the Main Menu and press F9=Notes. 2. You will now be on the K3S_6010 screen as shown below. Position your cursor on the U under Val and press F4=prompt. This brings up the K3S_9540 screen as seen below. If you want to add a supplier note, use 1=select on S Supplier. The Val has changed from U for User to S for Supplier. Enter the supplier number in the Supplier field. If you want to enter a product reminder, use 1=select on P Product and enter a product in the Product field. In this example, we are creating a User reminder, so we have U under Val. 3. Notice the Value of ‘U’ (indicating this is a User note) and the User ID (indicating these notes and reminders are connected to this User ID) showing at the top of the screen. 4. Press F6=Add to add your new Reminder. 5. You will see several underlined lines appear after you press the F6=Add. Notice the Type value shows ‘N’ (indicating you are entering Notes on this screen) and there is an ‘Expire on’ date to the far right. 6. If you wanted to enter Notes, you would do so now. However, to enter Reminders, you need to press F20=Toggle one time to get to screen 2 of 2. 7. See screen 2 of 2 below. Now notice the Type value is ‘R’ (for Reminders) and there is a ‘Remind from’ date to the far right of the screen. 8. Now you can start to enter your reminders and their ‘Remind from’ dates. Enter dates in the format MMDDYY. As an example, see the reminder added below to remind from today's date, entered as 060909. Note there is plenty of room to add as many reminders as you need. Use the Page down key to get more open lines. 9. After you have entered the text and date for your reminder(s) press Enter. 10. You will now see your reminder appear in reverse-image (light background with dark font). The reminder has now been set and will start on the specified ‘Remind frm’ date. 11. Those are all the steps to setting up your reminders. Now let’s look at what your reminders will look like when you reach the ‘Remind from’ date. Below is a picture of the Main Menu with my test reminder appearing. (Note that reminders will always appear in reverse-image when they reach the ‘Remind from’ date.) Note: You may change the Expire on date at any time. F20=Toggle dates on the K3S_6010 screen toggles from Remind From date to Expire on date. |
