How to Review and Approve an Order for a Diverter

Description: These instructions will teach you about diverter buying in K3S. Reviewing and approving diverter orders is slightly different than for regular suppliers. Follow the steps below to review and approve a diverter order. 1. Starting from the Main Menu, choose option 4. Suggested orders and press Enter. 2. You are now on the K3S_1010 screen as pictured below.  Change the Mode field to ‘A’ so you are only viewing ‘Alternate source suppliers’.                                                                        Reminder: If you do not remember that ‘A’ is the code for Diverters, you can press F4=Prompt on this field to bring up a window of all your options. Below is a picture of what this window will look like.                                                                                       3. Once you are viewing your diverters, use option 1=Select and press Enter to choose the diverter you want to work with.      Example:    We will use 1=Select to pick Victory Wholesale                                                                             4. You are now on the K3S_1020 screen as shown below. Notice that Unit 6 is showing you a field called ‘Savings’ with the dollar amount you will save by placing the suggested order with this diverter.     Example:    We will save $305 by buying the 3 suggested items through the diverter and not the regular supplier.                                                                    5.  Place ‘SQ’ into the Select check field and press Enter. 6.  You are now on the K3S_1030 screen as seen below.  Place option 9=Available next to the first product and press F21=Start. 7. You are now on the K3S_1070 screen as seen below.  This screen will compare several pieces of information about the chosen product between the regular supplier and all of the alternate source suppliers that carry it.   The system will also highlight the alternate source supplier who offers the best price.     Example: Our product below has a regular cost of $2.99.     Supreme is offering a price of $2.21, which is a 26.1% discount.     Quality King is offering a price of $2.10, which is a 29.8% discount.     Victory Wholesale is offering a price of $1.98, which is a 33.8% discount.     Purity Wholesale is offering a price of $2.18, which is a 27.1% discount.     Newport Wholesalers is offering a price of $2.34 which is a 21.7% discount. Victory Wholesale will be highlighted on the screen because they are offering the lowest price this week. 8. Press F12=Previous to get back to the K3S_1030 screen.  Now press F21=Start and you will advance to the K3S_1040 screen as seen below. This screen will show you the diverter cost of the product above the regular cost of the product.     Example:    See below that the diverter cost is $1.98 and the regular cost is $2.99   9. From here you can choose to change the suggested quantity or press Enter to advance to the next product. 10. Once you are done looking at the products and their suggested quantities, press F12=Previous until you return to the K3S_1020 screen. 11. Press F5=Approve order. 12. You are now on the K3S_1050 screen as seen below. Notice that the P.O. Type is ‘P’ for ‘Pro Forma’.  Press F5=Approve order again. 13. You are now back to the K3S_1020 screen. You will see that a PO number has been assigned, but the Type of the order is ‘PN’ for Pending, and not ‘AP’ for Approved.                                                                                 14. Once you are ready to Approve the order, press F5=Approve order again. 15. You are now on the K3S_1050 screen, but this time notice that the P.O. Type is ‘R’ for Regular. 16. Press F5=Approve order one more time. You will return to the K3S_1020 screen as seen below.  You will see that the same PO number is appearing but the Type is now ‘AP’ for Approved.  You will also see a message saying ‘Order has been approved’.
